Series Based on Harmony Series Premieres May 3-6
Harmony,
based on the popular series of novels by Philip Gulley, is coming
to a computer screen near you. Four original episodes premiere
on Strike.TV, bringing to life
the fictional small town of Harmony, Indiana with the humor and
touching storytelling that have made Gulley's
books bestsellers.
"Welcome
to Harmony," is the initial episode in which Sam Gardner
(played by David Burke), pastor of the Harmony Friends Meeting,
welcomes America to its favorite small town. In
"Home to Harmony," Gardner
tells us of how he became
pastor there, and features James Eckhouse, known to a generation of
Americans as the father on "Beverly Hills, 90210." The
"Amanda"
episode is an intimate and touching fictional v-log from
Harmony teenager, Amanda Hodge (Maggie Stabile). The last
episode,
"The Aluminum Years" chronicles Sam's
memorable tenth anniversary, featuring Kate Fuglei as his wife
Barbara. Each episode is approximately three minutes long--as
Sam notes, "We Midwesterners are punctual and don't want to overstay
our welcome."
Veteran Hollywood TV
and screenwriter Ken LaZebnik (co-author of "A Prairie Home
Companion," Robert Altman's last movie, and a writer/producer for
many years on the CBS hit "Touched By An Angel") wrote the
adaptations. Peter Hyoguchi directs, and the series is
Executive Produced by veteran film producers Harry and Mary Jane
Ufland ("Snow Falls on Cedars").
